What a perfect sketch day. Civic Plaza has both statues and real people to sketch, both tall buildings and small things, and there’s a Starbucks. It was a little cool but sunny, which made for a perfect morning of sketching. Here are some photos of the work and the sketchers.
Time to end the contest for the “Albuquerque Urban Sketchers” design is near. Just 10 more days till the 31st deadline, so please hurry and send your entry to “email@example.com” by midnight on the 31st. Thanks for participating to those who have already entered.
We are also accepting cash donations to cover the cost of the stamp. Donations to be made in person at sketch outs, like the next one on November the 9th, so you can get a receipt. Thanks in advance for any amount you care to donate.
Change of schedule! The Coronado National Monument had a special event going on October 19th and there would be 600 to 1000 people there! So, I changed the meeting place to the Downtown Albuquerque Civic Plaza. We will meet on the 3rd street side in front of the Convention Center at 10 AM and sketch till Noon. Maybe we’ll try to go to Coronado Monument next year. I know several of you requested that we go there.
El Rancho De Las Golondrinas is a wonderful place to sketch. For those who survived the confusion at check in the day turned out to be very fun, with lots to sketch and good weather. Some of us even got free Orno baked pizza.
