Well Sandia Crest was an experience. At about 11:30 a.m. the weather became a little bit of a problem and by 12:15 there was no going outside. Before noon we were all safely ensconced in the Sandia Crest House Gift Shop where hot chocolate, lattes and lunches were available. It rained and rained outside while we finished our sketches and caught up with each others lives inside. For those who made it, it was a great time sharing art and conversation with friends. We even had a few new folks show and we hope to see them again. A little after 1:00 p.m. we all escaped, as the rain abated, back to our individual homes some 5000 feet below.
Our next outing is the National Museum of Nuclear Science at 601 Eubank Blvd. SE in Albuquerque. We meet at 10:00 a.m. on Saturday the 21st of August. With the Covid numbers on the rise who can tell what will happen by that weekend so our advice is to bring your mask as the museum follows the CDC guidelines and it looks like those may change.
We appreciate you all, remember art is a journey not a destination. Hope to see you all at the next location.
Stay safe, stay happy and keep sketching.
