Saturday at the Botanical Gardens at the Albuquerque Biopark

A perfect Fall day with 25 of us gathering to sketch at this beautiful oasis in Albuquerque.  We welcomed several new members and hope they will help us celebrate the INTERNATIONAL WORLD-WIDE SKETCHCRAWL on November 11 which happens to coincide with our next sketchout at the Alvarado Transportation Center.

Here’s what we did:

October 21, Albuquerque Botanical Garden

The Albuquerque Botanical Garden is always a favorite venue for our group.  We will gather at the main entrance at 10:00, do our usual two hours of sketching and then share around noon.  For those who want to have lunch, I believe there is a restaurant on-site.

Albuquerque Botanical Garden, 2601 Central Avenue NW, Albuquerque

Saturday, October 21, 2017. 10:00-Noon. Admission:  Adult $10, Senior $5.50

SUNDAY, OCTOBER 1ST Albuquerque Railyard Grower’s Market

PLEASE NOTE:  We will be meeting on SUNDAY, OCTOBER 1st starting at 10:00 AM at the Albuquerque Railyard Grower’s Market located at 777 1st Street, Albuquerque

IMPORTANT:  BRING YOUR OWN CHAIRS/STOOLS TO SIT ON WHILE SKETCHING.  Last year, it was brought to our attention that some of our members were taking up table space of paying customers.

This venu provides lots of variety for sketching:  architecture, still life displays of beautiful vegetables, and people.    Hope to see you there.

September 9th, El Rancho de las Golondrinas

This “living” history museum is a beautiful place to sketch.  You can check out their web-site for more information  and directions.  There is an admission cost of $6 for adults, $4 for Seniors.  If you plan to stay into the afternoon ( there is so much to capture in your sketchbook) bring your own picnic as there are no food vendors on non-festival weekends.  There are covered picnic areas and bathroom facilities.

El Rancho de las Golondrinas, 334 Las Pinos Road, Santa. Fe, NM

SATURDAY, SEPTEMBER 9, 2017 starting at 10:00 AM.  We will do our usual sketching for 2 hours, share  and then picnic and perhaps sketch more.
