Holiday Luncheon, December 1st 2018

Hi All.  We will be going to the Standard Diner again this year on Saturday, December 1st at 11 AM. They are located at 320 Central SE in Albuquerque and have again agreed to do separate checks, so cash or credit cards are fine.

Please let me know if you plan on attending since the restaurant would like to have a fairly accurate count.

Albuquerque Open Space Visitor’s Center, November 10th

Hi All.  Our next sketch outing will be November 10th at the Open Space Visitor’s Center at 6500 Coors Blvd NW.  We will meet at 10 and sketch till noon.  Also, I want to take a good group shot of everyone with their sketchbooks for the article in Drawing Attention. I’ve been working on getting our group featured in the online magazine and hopefully we will be in the December or January issue.

The Visitor’s Center is having their Festival celebrating the return of the cranes that day so it might be busy in the morning with lots of activities to sketch.  Their festival is from 9 to 5 Saturday.

Let me know if you plan on attending

Lunch in Cerrillos!

Hi All.   Anyone that would like to have lunch after sketching this weekend, we will be going to the Black Bird Saloon in Cerrillos.  Their menu looks great and they said that we can have separate checks.  So think about it.

Also, this Saturday is the 61st World Wide SketchCrawl.  So, we will be inadvertently participating in that event, too!

Village of Cerrillos NM, October 20, 2018

Our next sketch outing will be in Cerrillos NM on Saturday, October 20th.  We’ll meet at 10 AM on the corner of Main and 1st.  Main is the road from Highway 14 that goes in to the village.  If anyone is interested in carpooling, Donna has volunteered to organize it.  Please email her at if you are interested.  Let me know if you plan on attending.

El Rancho de las Golondrinas, September 8th

Our next sketch outing will be at El Rancho de las Golondrinas on Saturday, September 8th. We will meet at 10 AM and Sketch till about Noon.  (Check with some of your friends about car pooling.)

The museum is dedicated to the history, heritage and culture of 18th and 19th century New Mexico. Guides are dressed in period clothing and demonstrate weaving, hide tanning, milling, blacksmithing and the planting of crops. There is a lot to sketch! Adult admission is $6 and Seniors $4.

From Albuquerque, drive north towards Santa Fe and take exit 271 off of I-25 on to County Road 50F toward La Cienega.  After about 0.2 miles turn left on to Entrada La Cienega then after about 1 mile, turn right on to Los Pinos Road and keep going to 334 Los Pinos Road.

Let me know if you’re coming.
